Margate Basketball League
General Information
The Margate Youth Basketball League is an annual co-ed developmental, recreational program open to residents, and non-residents ages 5 to 13 years-old. Volunteer Coaches will work with your child to improve individual skills in dribbling, passing, shooting and team play. Participants will develop friendships, character, respect, and life lessons beyond the game all while achieving their desired basketball goals.
ALL participants must attend a one-day mandatory skills evaluation. Evaluation day should take about 45-60 minutes where we put the kids through different skills stations. This process will enable us to bring balance to the teams.
Over the course of the season, participants will play regular season games, and conclude with a playoff tournament. The league follows the Broward County Schools traditional school calendar for winter and spring break.
The league is currently broken up into three divisions:

REGISTRATION
Registration is online and begins in May for the Fall Season and October for the Spring Season. Registration Fee is $100 for Residents and $150 for Non-Residents. Please ensure that email used for account creation is current and up to date. After completing the online registration process, you will be contacted via e-mail with evaluation dates.

Volunteer Coaches Needed!
The Margate Basketball League is seeking volunteer coaches for all divisions. No experience is necessary. Training provided. All coaches must complete a Volunteer Program Application and Background Check. Games and practices are one day a week for approximately one hour.

Player Evaluations
Specific evaluation dates/times for seasons to be confirmed at a later date. Usually in January for the Spring Season and August for the Fall Season.
Practices
Practices may take place during week at 6:00 or 7:00PM, or on the weekend (will vary by coach)
