What?
The City of Margate has identified critical capital needs totaling approximately $224.3 million over the next ten years to address upgrades to its aging water and wastewater utility system. About half of this funding will come from Water and Sewer Rates and Reserves.

How?
In the November 2024 election, 76.6% of Margate voters approved up to $120 million in Water and Wastewater Revenue Bonds, authorizing long-term investment in the city’s aging utility systems. The strong voter approval reflects broad community support for critical utility improvements. The city plans a second bond issuance in 2027, and a third in 2031.
