Project Autism - An Autism Outreach Program

Project Autism

Project Autism is an outreach program that will allow our officers to better serve those in our autistic community. Through this program we will maintain a database of Autistic individuals living in Margate.  The information that you provide, will greatly assist our officers when coming into contact with your loved one.  The form below will need to be filled out in its entirety with information about the autistic Individual. By clicking “submit”, this form will be sent directly to our Community Relations Unit who will input the information into our database. The information will be kept confidential and made only available to our patrol officers as well as all police departments that are located in Broward County through an internal program. This process will allow officers who are responding to an incident involving an autistic person to appropriately prepare for and handle the situation with professionalism and with the utmost of understanding for this individual and his/her needs. Ultimately, through the Margate Cares initiative, we will be improving these day to day or seldom interactions for all those involved.

Should you have any questions about this program, please do not hesitate to contact our Community Relations Unit at (954)972-7111 or communityrelationsunit@margatefl.com.  Community Relations Officer Diana Maglocco can assist you with the registration process!
