Hurricane Dorian Update

Hurricane Dorian Update - 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 30, 2019

With Hurricane Dorian posing a threat to Florida, the City of Margate is providing this update for the benefit of our residents and the public. For non-emergency calls, please call (954) 764-4357 (HELP).

City Hall Closed on Monday, September 2nd in Observance of Labor Day
The City of Margate will be closed on Monday, September 2nd in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Please stay tuned to the City's Facebook page for Hurricane Dorian updates. 


Sandbags Available to Margate Residents
Sandbags will be distributed to Margate residents only at the Margate Sports Complex, 1695 Banks Road, on Saturday, August 31st from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., while supplies last. Please bring your photo ID as each Margate household will receive a maximum of 10 bags. Bag will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.

Solid Waste and Recycling Collection on Friday, August 30th
Please be advised that as of close of business on Saturday, August 31st, Waste Management will stop all garbage, recycling, bulk and yard waste collection until further notice.

Please DO NOT put out bulk materials at this time and secure your garbage and recycling containers to avoid possible projectiles during the storm.

Also, DO NOT place bulk trash out until further notice.
