Our Mission Statement

To provide the highest level of permitting and inspection services available in a timely and professional manner. It is our on going commitment to protect the public’s life, health and welfare each and everyday.

Responsibilities

The Building Department enforces the Florida Building Code and related regulation, promoting safe building standards and practices. We provide plan review, inspections, and education to the entire community. We promote safe standards for all types of construction performed by homeowners and the contracting industry. Our staff members are highly accessible to residents, businesses, and building professionals. The Building Department continually strives to provide excellence in customer service.

Hours

The Building Department office hours are 7:30am till 5:30pm Monday through Friday.    

The Permit Window is open 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Inspectors are available by phone between 7:00am-8:00am and 4pm-5:00pm, Monday through Thursday. The Building Official’s office is by appointment only.

Inspectors attempt to accommodate all requests for specific inspection times. The permit holder should call between 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. to secure a time or window on the morning of the inspection or by prior arrangement.

Beginning June 1, 2018, Inspection requests called in prior to 2:00 p.m. will be conducted the next business day. Requests after 2:00 p.m. will be conducted the 2nd business day. Inspections called in on Thursday prior to 2:00 p.m. will be scheduled for the following Monday. Inspections called in after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday through 2:00 p.m. Monday will be scheduled for the following Tuesday. Inspections requested for Friday must be called in prior to 2:00 p.m. the Wednesday before.
