The City of Margate will celebrate the flavors of the community with a one-day festival on Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Margate Sports Complex Covered Field, 1695 Banks Road, Margate.

The International Day Festival will feature free entertainment, exhibits and vendors, giveaways, plus food trucks offering international cuisine available for purchase. The event is free and open to the public.

According to the latest Census estimates, about 36 percent of Margate’s population was born in a foreign country,” says Margate Mayor Anthony N. Caggiano. “This new festival honors all the various cultures represented within our community.”

“The Margate Community Redevelopment Agency built this Covered Field to hold this type of event that is expected to attract thousands of people to our district,” says MCRA Board Chair Tommy Ruzzano

I am thrilled that Margate is hosting this free festival to celebrate the diversity of our community,” says Margate Commissioner Antonio V. Arserio, who proposed creating this event. “By learning more about our similarities and differences, we create an opportunity to appreciate and welcome everyone in Margate.”

The event is presented by Broward Meat and Fish Company. Additional sponsors (to date) include El Al Israel Airlines, ChenMed, Donna’s Caribbean Restaurant, Community Medical Group, Cigna, La Bamba Mexican and Spanish Restaurants, Galuma Tires & Wheels and Jasmine Thai & Sushi
