The Margate Community Redevelopment Agency (MCRA) is extending the welcome carpet to the national airline of Israel, El Al, for its decision to relocate its headquarters to Margate, Florida.
The relocation announcement was made recently by Broward County Mayor Michael Udine in conjunction with representatives from the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, the county’s economic development arm.
“On behalf of the MCRA, I want to join my counterparts at the county level in extending a warm welcome to our friends at El Al,” said MCRA Board Chair Tommy Ruzzano. “We are simply ecstatic with this announcement. Our agency is committed to attracting more multinational businesses that globally put Margate on the map.”
The City of Margate is ideally located in the heart of Broward County with easy access to the Florida Turnpike, Interstate 95, and the Sawgrass Expressway. In addition, three international airports and three deepwater seaports are within an hour's drive from Margate. This perfect location is currently home to over 1,800 businesses and is strategically positioned to serve the growing population of the tri-county area.
Margate’s CRA Chair Tommy Ruzzano is pleased to announce that the airline’s board of directors and Israel’s finance ministry has already approved the company’s relocation to Margate. The airline plans to move from New York to base its financial, administrative, and marketing functions in its new location at 5297 Copans Road in Margate. Additional information will be provided as details are being finalized.
