Fire Inspector Kevin Kelleher began his career in the fire service in 1982 with the City of Lighthouse Point, after two years he joined the City of Pompano Beach Fire Department where he worked his way up the ranks to Fire Captain. Kevin holds a degree in Fire Science and is a State certified and Broward County certified Fire Inspector. He began here in the City of Margate in 2016 and is responsible for annual commercial property fire and life safety inspections. He continues to provide business owners with valuable information and is wonderful at communicating with the public to ensure that our commercial properties are doing their very best to stay safe and in compliance. Kevin has also been a Margate resident since 2000.

Fire Inspector Nicole O’Neill began her career with the City of Margate in 2002 as a Fire Fighter/Paramedic. Prior, Nicole was a Margate Fire Explorer for four years. Her experience as an explorer solidified her choice to pursue a profession in the fire service. She worked for 20 years as a Fire Fighter/Paramedic and decided to obtain the necessary education to move into Fire Prevention. She was certified by the Broward County Board and Appeals in 2021 and is a Life Safety Educator. Her goal is to offer an opportunity to educate the citizens on fire safety and teach people how to protect themselves from fire risk. Nicole looks forward to working with the schools and educating the children making sure that our community is safe.
